11/7: Hoosiers Nearly Stage Comeback, Fall 5-3

Friday night the Musketeers and Hoosiers took the ice in Columbus at the Hamilton Center Ice Arena for their first weekend series since 2012.

Xavier came out of the gates hot in the first period tallying three goals to take a 3-0 lead.

The Musketeers didn't stop there, as they started the second period off with two more goals to make it a 5-0 lead.

Despite being down big, IU didn't back down.

Ryan Santorsola buried a rebound for his third goal of the season late in the 2nd period to get IU on the board.

IU began to rally and was relentless on the puck, and it paid dividends as Nick Kleva cut the lead to three with a goal 6:56 into the third period assisted by Kyle Donelson.

The Hoosiers kept attacking, and added another goal to make the lead just two on an unassisted goal by Nate Mika, his sixth of the year.

Even though IU was able to rally off three in a row, Xavier was able to shut out IU the rest of the way and hang on for a 5-3 win.

The Hoosiers outshot Xavier in the contest 42-37.

Justin Madigan had the start for IU, making 32 saves.

11/1: Hoosiers Lose First Game in BTown

After dropping Friday night's contest, IU was hoping that a trip back to BTown would help them pick up the weekend split.

Xavier had other plans, coming out hot again scoring two early in the first to take a 2-0 lead.

With under a minute left in the first period, a rebound was knocked away by an Xavier defensemen in the crease with his hand, which led to a penalty shot.

Nick Kleva was given the chance to take the penalty shot, and he made the most of it, scoring his 11th goal of the season.

Even with the momentum tilting in their favor, the Hoosiers couldn't find any more offense the rest of the way.

It was a closely fought battle until the end, but Xavier was able to hold off IU for a 4-1 win for the weekend sweep.

Ben Seinfeld got the nod in net for Saturday's contest, making 35 saves on 39 shots.
