Coach Jack Manard was born in Detroit, Michigan, where he played in the Michigan TCHL and in Ontario, Canada. Recently married to Katie Miller Manard, he has 4 children, Blake, Alec, Tara and Michelle and 2 step children, Reese and Riley Miller.
An alumnus of Western Michigan University, Coach Manard began his coaching career in Carmel Indiana, coaching Tier 1 and Tier 2 level teams from Squirt AA to Midget AAA to High School in the ISHSHA. While coaching with the Carmel Gold team, his teams won 3 State Championships, several league championships and enjoyed numerous tournament victories. In 2014 he was awarded to ISHSA Presidents Award for his contribution to High School Hockey and was later inducted into the Indiana High School Hockey Hall of Fame.
In addition to his responsibilities with the IU team, he is a Level 5, USA Hockey Master Level Coach, and Head u18 Coach / Director of Hockey for the statewide Team Indiana Hockey program, which fields a u18, u16 and girls post season team – all designed to provide hockey and academic opportunities for Indiana High School players. Coach Manard is also the Indiana Scout for the Minnesota Blue Ox hockey team from Coon Rapids, Minnesota, who play in the USPHL Junior A league.
