When you think of buzzer beaters and IU, the first thing that comes to your mind surely isn't hockey.
The Hoosiers have recently risen back in the national spotlight on the hardwood partly in thanks to the "Watshot" buzzer beater over Kentucky back in 2012.
The Hoosier hockey team had their own buzzer beater on Saturday, one that sent ripples across the North region.
After already upsetting Holy Cross on Friday night 3-2, IU was looking to make a statement by beating the highly ranked Saints on back to back days.
Holy Cross came into the weekend ranked #11 in the North region and #20 in the country, and had just beat the three time defending national champion Adrian Gold 5-2 two weeks prior.
Although IU would eventually win on a buzzer beater, that goal may not have been the most impressive of the season, let alone the best of that game.
In the first period on the PP, Danny Brogan pulled off the infamous "Michigan move", picking the puck up on his stick and whipping it in the top corner of the net lacrosse style. The move stunned the Saints, and gave IU an early lead.

Holy Cross would end up building up a 3-1 lead following the early Hoosier goal, but IU came back with their own offensive flury.
Kleva (2), Mooney, and Reiff, would all score to give Indiana four unanswered goals to take a 5-3 lead. A goal late in the period by Holy Cross would make it 5-4 heading into the third.
The third period started out high paced, with IU looking to defend their lead.
However, 8:34 in, the Saints found twine again, tying the game at five.
Just four minutes later Holy Cross answered again on the PP to take a 6-5 lead.
Time started to dwindle on the Hoosiers who couldn't find the back of the net, until they caught a break.
Holy Cross took a penalty with 1:11 left in the game, giving IU a chance to pull their goalie and set up a 6 on 4 attack.
Sure enough, the Hoosiers were able to strike again. Nick Kleva deflected Danny Brogan's shot with 25 seconds left to pick up the hat-trick, and tie the game at six.
It looked as if this one was going to head to OT with both teams heading out to center ice with 25 seconds left, most likely trying to kill the clock off.
The Saints won the draw, and brought it in wide and took a shot that rattled around the boards.
Reiff picked it up off the boards with 15 seconds left, and was quickly alerted to push the puck up the ice.
10 seconds left.
Reiff puts a shot towards the net that goes wide, and center John Gangnon scoops it off the wide boards and throws it on net.
5 seconds left.
A scrum ensues in front of the net with both teams battling for the rebound, but Gangnon emerges with the puck and chips it over the goalie. Right as it crosses the line, the buzzer sounded. IU pulled off the buzzer beater with Gangnon getting the GWG, final score: 7-6.
The Saints stood in awe as the Hoosiers poured from their bench to celebrate their victory. It was a historic win for IU, who picked up their 12th win of the season tying a program record for wins in a season.
